As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in driving their data-driven approach to understanding fan behavior, optimizing engagement strategies, and shaping the future of sports entertainment.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing data science initiatives, leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to extract insights from vast amounts of fan data. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to develop data-driven solutions that enhance fan experiences, drive user engagement, and ultimately, deliver exceptional value to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data-driven solutions to improve fan engagement and optimize user experiences on our platform.
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights from large datasets, including user behavior data, social media data, and other relevant sources.
  • Develop predictive models and algorithms to personalize fan experiences, provide targeted recommendations, and optimize content delivery.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to integrate data science capabilities into our platform, ensuring seamless end-to-end implementation.
  • Lead exploratory data analysis, identify trends and patterns, and generate actionable recommendations to improve fan engagement strategies and drive business growth.
  • Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to evaluate the impact of new features, algorithms, and engagement strategies.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and sports analytics, and proactively apply emerging techniques to enhance our fan engagement capabilities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in data science, with a focus on applying advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
  • Strong expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, as well as proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
  • Extensive experience with machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.
  • Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience working in an AWS cloud environment using tools like Redshift, EMR, Sagemaker, Lamda, S3, ECS & DynamoDB.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Previous work in the sports industry or fan engagement domain is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities, with a passion for driving innovation through data-driven insights.

This role has a salary range of $155,000-$180,000
